Learn How 2012-2013 Rule Changes Will Impact Your Next Score

Register now for this 60-minute session in which our expert speaker, Hank Vanderbeek, offers a comprehensive look at the REAC inspection process from start to finish, revealing how the important rule changes made in 2012 and 2013 could affect your next inspection.

Congress and the President recently passed a new law that includes harsher consequences for failing REAC scores—including money penalties, abatement of the Section 8 contract, and judicial receivership.

That’s why it’s more important than ever that all housing industry professionals—from the owner on down to the site manager—be well prepared to meet inspectors’ expectations.

The first in a two-part series, this program will reveal:

  • REAC’s mission (and why it inspects just a sample of units, not 100% of them)
  • Inspector rules of conduct
  • REAC scoring structure
  • Best practices for preparing  for the inspection
  • How to cut preparation costs and still earn a top score
  • How to deal with rogue inspectors (both REAC employees and contractors)

This presentation is appropriate for property owners/agents, property managers, maintenance supervisors, and support staff.

He will explain a wide range of critical REAC topics in a short amount of time. After attending, you will understand why REAC conducts inspections, be well prepared to earn a top score (for a lot less money that you’re used to spending), and know where to find the information you need to continue your REAC education. Learning materials will include photos of actual property defects.

Plus: Please stay tuned for two follow-up seminar, REAC Impossible II, where Mr. Vanderbeek will delve further into the subjects discussed here, explain your all-important appeal rights, and offer a more thorough understanding of the role of the property in preparing adequately for the REAC inspection.
