Balance your housing property budget with a real understanding of your risk exposure

Register now for this 60-minute audio session in which our expert speaker, Steven W. Sachs, takes a common-sense approach to discussing risk and insurance options for multi-family housing properties. Find out how to frame your insurance purchase within a business context, get competitive pricing, and avoid backend surprises that can upset both the P&L and balance sheet.

If you own or manage multi-family housing assets, insurance has a significant impact on your margin. And you likely see it as a pure expense over which you have little control. While that is partially true, you can make smarter—more budget-friendly decisions—if you understand the real cost impact of insurance: whether and to what extent a loss is covered.

This program will teach you to:

  • Understand how insurance companies operate and how they view multi-family housing market risks
  • Identify insurance markets by account appetite and underwriting issues
  • Create a process for controlling risk as part of your operations
  • Develop a customized approach to the insurance market to successfully achieve best-in-class placement
  • Address problem locations within your portfolio when negotiating with insurance markets
  • Better manage risk as part of your operations

This presentation is appropriate for owners/agents of multi-family housing properties (including affordable housing), property managers, lenders, and attorneys with multi-family real estate clients.

After attending this audio event, you’ll be able to use your knowledge of the insurance market to make smart buying choices and determine your company’s proper level of risk exposure. You’ll know which coverage limitations often result in uninsured exposures—and understand how to avoid the post-loss surprises that asset valuations clauses can lead to.
