Use EIV Reports to Accurately Determine Your Tenants’ Income and Eligibility

HUD requires assisted housing owners and managing agents (O/As) to closely monitor their tenants’ eligibility for assistance under the assisted housing program. HUD provides O/As with a variety of tools and reports to aid in the endeavor, including the Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) reports. The tricky part is knowing when and how to use them, and how to proceed when discrepancies are discovered.

In this session, fair housing consultant Debbie Hixon will help you gain a better understanding of EIV, the EIV reports and your responsibilities, as well as the key steps you should take in identifying and resolving income discrepancies.

You will learn the purpose of EIV reports and how to use them to complete the recertification process as well as monitor the status of a tenant’s eligibility. After attending this session, you will understand your responsibilities for all aspects of EIV and how to use these reports to your advantage. You will be confident while running your reports and will have good understanding of how they are to be used which will help you to accurately determine tenant income.

You will understand how often your policies and procedures for EIV should be updated. You will feel confident that you are processing EIV according to HUD and that you are compliant and ready for your Management and Occupancy Review (MOR) regarding EIV policies and procedures. Hixon will ensure that you are able to process and use these reports to the full and while also keeping in total compliance with HUD.
